Future Units
Future Units are manufactured combining the skills of lead light making and the benefits of double-glazing.
With these units we can provide the security and insulation of a modern double glazed window combined with the style and visual impact of a traditional leaded light.
Once a design is agreed the glass is individually cut and adhered to the facing glass, this is then joined with lead and solder and made into a double glazed unit. These units can be put into wood, aluminium or UPVC frames.
With this method we can design and manufacture any ornamental and pattern lead light, using all available coloured and obscure glass. We can even take your old lead light, strip and clean it and make into a future unit.
It is important to mention that whilst you may be offered a similar unit from other companies we have the British and European patent for this product.
Where we differ is that most companies offering a similar service use film or paint for the colour in place of glass. This has two problems. Firstly, they do not give the same depth as traditional glass and, secondly, with glass you can eliminate colour fading, cracking and shrinking. With glass there is a lifetime guarantee on colour fading.
